"Eggcellent" Easter

We spent Easter morning participating in our Church program (I had to speak and the both of us sang in the choir). We then had our friends Emily and John over for an Easter Feast. It was a feast indeed! I think we had enough food to serve possibly 8-10 people for just the 4 of us. We had a honey baked ham with the family tradition of mustard sauce to accompany the ham, homemade rolls, fresh green beans, sweet potato pie, cherry jell-o, cheesy potatoes, and deviled eggs. Oh yeah we also had strawberry shortcake for dessert! We all were so full however, that we never even ate it. Let's just say we have lots of tasty leftovers to enjoy and no dinners to worry about cooking this week!

I had a fun time getting festive with our table and setting and getting in the Spring spirit by buying a lovely Lilly and calla lilly plant.

From Thursday evening to Sunday night we had nothing but a steady snow fall. With cold temperatures and snow covered ground I figured the closest I was going to get to spring was by putting a couple fresh flowers in my house to brighten my spirits. No Egg hunts outside happening here!! With my decorated table in pastels and my flowers it started to feel a little like spring.

I love it. The flowers are beautiful and I should have picked some up too, even though the dust is an inch thick. I realized about Wednesday that I hadn't prepared my usual holiday treats for all you guys and felt bad but Easter isn't supposed to be until Passover, in April. Maybe I can get it together enough by then to do something.
Your table looks 'springy" and the light coming in the slider belies the cold factor and makes you think there is sun coming in that window.
The food looks great. You and Liz thought along the same lines, Honey baked ham. I just had a roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, yorkshires, asparagus, and Aunt Bette's green jello. So we weren't really hurting but I think I like your menu better.

You get the "Martha Stewart" award for the best looking table that I have seen so far!! I love the pastel decor and the egg garland looks great. What a great idea to put chocolate bunnies in the goblets!! You always were such a great hostess. Glad the food was good and you have plenty of left overs. Wish we could have come to your place to help you eat all of your food! LOVE YOU BOTH!

Kristin - I'm always so impressed with how amazing you make all your meals! I aspire to be that way, but I'm just lazy (and not quite as creative). You're pretty amazing!
