Road Runner

20 miles here we come!!
Waiting to be summoned to the starting line! Feeling good at this point!
........Get set GOOOOOOOOO!!
All smiles right now!
12 miles down at this point.......What you mean I have to go around the lake again!

OK I will put on my smiley face and go around again!
Is that the finish line.....Yes it is!!
I am giving a cheer for almost being done!

And I cross the finish line!!!!
My 2o mile time: 3 hours 15 mins 21 secs

I just finished week 12 of training! I now have 4 weeks until my Marathon. I am still sore today and have been having some knee pain after I finished my 20 mile race on Saturday. I am on my way to a running store to talk to them. I think it is time for another new pair of shoes too. They say a runners shoe lasts about 300 miles. Well I have defiantly put the miles on. I felt good about my race and finishing 20 miles gives me the confidence that I can do 26.2. I even kept my pace that I was aiming for too. I finished the 20 miles in 3 hours and 15 min. Just under 10:00 min per mile.

Training Log for Week 12
Mon: 5 miles
Tue: Rest
Wed: 8 miles
Thur: 5 miles
Fri: Rest
Sat: 20 mile race
Sun: Rest
Total Miles Ran=38

Way to go!!!! I really should get back into running but I blame it on the altitude. Still trying to adjust...Keep up the good work. Can't wait to hear about the marathon.

Great job on your race!! I so admire you on your running. And I would LOVE any running shoe advice you have, I need to get some new ones too, and I want to get some good ones that won't give me a purple toe, so I would LOVE your advice!
