The Great Outdoors

Before the cold comes and law school begins to take over Thomas' life again we decided to get some friends together and head out into the great outdoors. Over Labor Day weekend we went up to St. Croix State Park for a camping trip with our friends the Sharpes (Emily and John) and Laws (Morgan and Nate). The park is a little over an hour north of where we live. It is on the St. Croix river and is a beautiful place for camping, hiking, biking, and conoeing. We had perfect weather the whole weekend and could not have asked for a better way to say goodbye to summer. We enjoyed canoeing, skipping rocks on the river, playing volleyball, badminton, bocce ball, and sitting around the campfire. Oh yeah, and eating one too many smores!

What a beautiful place to have a campout. Who had the canoe?? The company and food look great and you look like you had a wonderful time. It won't be long before you see the white stuff again!!! Enjoy while you can.

We all rented canoes at the state park. The state park has an outfitter on location that gives you the canoes and then picks you up down the river to bring you back.

I have always wanted to try canoeing. It looks like fun. I'm glad that you had good weather, too. What a fun camping trip!
