In Minnesota they hold the Get in Gear race every end of April. It is the kickoff to spring around here and the big event that gets everyone looking forward to exercising outside again after enduring another long winter. Thomas and I decided to run in the 5K this year with one of my co-workers. Ericka, who is a dental assistant I work with, had been training hard to be able to run the 5K this year without walking and wanted to to keep a 10:00 min. per mile pace. Back in November I encouraged her that she could do it and I would run with her and get Thomas to run with us too. So yesterday we all did great and finished a 5K all together. Ericka finished, didn't walk a single step, and finished 4:20 better than last year. Way to go Ericka!! And way to go Thomas-he didn't even train!!

Wow!! Way to go Thomas!! I love it that you didn't even train for it--how manly of you. :) And i LOVE, LOVE the bandanna in your hair.
Congrats you two!! It almost inspires me to get out and run ... almost.
That seems like a fun event and great way to celebrate the end of winter. Hopefully it means that it is going to start warming up there. I don't know how you guys can live in such cold weather... I thought that kentucky was bad. Glad you were able to keep your goal.
Way to go Thomas!! Are you not training to run the marathon too??? The cold must have frozen your brain!! Just kidding. Glad you finished a race and had a good time.
